Best Thing

At rehearsal we were doing the Beatles song "Ob Li Di Ob La Da" and after going over it many times.... the kids were singing the chorus! ...life goes on bra, la la how the life goes on! How cool is that! Best ever!

Rehearsal

Besides being a librarian, mother of 7,and homemaker...I am also a choreographer. I have been doing choreography for over 35 years! (Golly gee! Has it been THAT long!?) I do choreography for Salt Lake County/ Midvale City youth theater and also I do various plays for Midvale city. At rehearsal for the youth theater group.....we have several siblings in our show. We were going through one of the dances and in a frenzied moment a brother and sister collided into each other. They hit each other pretty hard!I mean it was really his sister that was going one way then abruptly turned the other direction plowing right into him. Normally, you would see a sibling get pretty heated over something like that....crying fowl all the while! But not this young man! Oh no....he just laughed and shrugged it off and told his OLDER sister "that's ok.", giving her a lopsided grin. Way to go, Kyle! Way to be that little flame!
And that's the light in my world today....

A small flame in Wal-mart?

I was shopping at Wal-mart...getting cat food and baggies....(well, you probably don't need to know that!) And after having a very tough week, I get to the counter to check out and the guy running the cash register stops and looks and me and says "Wow your hair looks so great!" He was so sincere that it really set me back. I smiled and said thank you and on the way out to my car I was goin....."yeah! my hair DOES look great today!" ha! I have heard that a woman can live a year on one compliment.....if that is the case, I should be good till next May! So, Gary at Wal-mart thanks for the compliment...you will never know how it affected my week! And that's the light in my world today!!

2 little boys

On my way to work this morning, I saw two boys walking to school. It was on a busy street and I thought..."wow! I don't know that I would let my boys walk to school on this street!" I was stopped at a light when I noticed one boy pulled out a shopping bag from his pocket and started picking up garbage on his way! I couldn't believe it. WOW...I mean, WOW. His friend was helping and then a horn honked behind me because the light had turned green and there I was sitting watching those two. They were being quick about their "job" and it certainly looked to me like they were even joyful about it!
I am reading this series called Lowthar's Blade and to quote from the book...."ah, but cannot a small flame still burn down a house? And so you will be a flame of hope in this darkness."
Way to go boys! Be that small flame!
